Naturopathic medicine is a system of medicine that uses natural therapeutics to maintain health and bring about cure. It is based on "vis medicatrix naturae," a medical philosophy that utilizizes the healing power of nature. Within each individual lies the innate ability to heal by natural means. Naturopathic physicians focus on restoring and strengthening the body's physiological, mental and emotional healing processes and the interactions between them. Not only are Naturopathic doctors trained in natural therapies and prevention, but are also trained in the art and science of diagnosis; especially, by identifying the underlying cause of the illness and working from there.
At Mountainview Wellness Centre, we take these principles and go one step further to ensure that all patients are evaluated on an individual basis, taking into consideration different environmental, social, and genetic factors. Not only do we treat people and not just their diseases, we educate our patients and become coaches that encourage and empower them to take charge of their health.
