hcPRP Prolozone for Orthopedic Conditions

What is hcPRP Prolozone?

hcPRP Prolozone (also known as hcPRP Prolozone Therapy) is an innovative combined approach to the repair of damaged ligaments, tendons, and cartilage developed by Dr. Caleb Ng, ND. hcPRP Prolozone uses medical grade ozone and highly concentrate platelet rich plasma to induce regeneration of injured tissues. Pioneered and tested at Mountainview Wellness Centre, Dr. Caleb Ng has provided over 6,000 successful hcPRP Prolozone joint injections through manual guidance, and has successfully been addressing conditions including osteoarthritis of the knees, back, and neck; vertebral disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, whiplash injuries, tendonitis, ligament tears, and many other musculo-skeletal issues.

hcPRP

Highly concentrated platelet-rich plasma adds platelets and growth factors harvested from the patient’s own blood to injured areas in need of significant repair. Platelets are rich in growth factors and communication molecules that have a profound regenerative effect.

Prolozone

Prolozone treatments are injections of nutrients and medical ozone gas to stimulate a healing response. These nutrients and ozone gas can stimulate the cells that repair damaged ligaments, tendons and cartilage in soft tissue injuries and arthritis. The solutions used to treat an area include freezing for comfort and diagnostic purposes; minerals and vitamins for nutritional support, and may include anti-inflammatories to break the pain and inflammation cycle. A mixture of ozone and oxygen provides the benefit of stimulating cells crucial for ligament, tendon and cartilage repair such as chondrocytes and fibroblasts. A common sign that someone is a good candidate for prolozone is if chiropractic adjustments or acupuncture provide temporary relief of an injured joint, but sustained relief is not achieved.

hcPRP vs regular PRP

Highly concentrated platelet rich plasma is different that regular platelet rich plasma in its regenerative effects. By utilizing a specific harvesting method, hcPRP has been shown to be 300% more concentrated in growth factors as compared to standard harvesting techniques.

The Difference at Mountainview Wellness Centre

Since beginning his injection practice in 2002, Dr. Ng has found that a combined approach utilizing several different methods has given the most significant and consistent regenerative effects in joint repair. A comprehensive orthopedic assessment allows Dr. Ng to understand the mechanics of the affected joint and target and address the tissues in greatest need. While the patient's platelets are being prepared, an intravenous treatment is administered to pre-condition repair cells before the hcPRP Prolozone is added. This ensures optimal therapeutic effect of the affected joint.
